Sound from 1 channel only

Post by theexbrit » Thu Nov 26, 2009 8:12 pm

Hi all,

I recorded some old tracks from a tape player & they are stereo tracks but the music is only in the right track channel, there's nothing in the left channel :o I tried all the
'make stereo", etc options but being as it's already stereo it makes no difference, I still only get sound from one channel. How can I cut & paste the music from the right channel into the bare left channel? I don't care if it's mono, I just want the music to come out of both speakers.

Not sure if I explained this very well, I'll try to post an image.

Thanks.

You need to set your Audacity Prefeferences to Channel: 2 Stereo (Audacity when first installed defaults to mon).

Go to Edit > Preferences > Audio I/O to make the reset.
