I have audacity 1.3.9

And wen I make a recording it does work and sound ok and I have the Record Volume Input set as High as it goes in audacity.

But the recording shows up in the track very thin.
So I select the whole timeline and and then I click the Zoom In tool and the track move closer I think but it looks like the line gets thinner or looks like Dots.

The sound Playboack volume in audacity is set to High and it sound good.

But it is just very small the wave please help what am I doing or not doing right

I'm going to answer what I think you're asking.

You want to increase the loudness of the work so you can see the lumps and bumps in the wave and see where to edit.

Edit > Select > All.

Effect > Amplify

Boom. If there is a show in there at all, it will suddenly be visible -- and a lot louder.

What we call "zoom" is to view small portions of time instead of the whole hour all at once. Drag-Select a portion of the show and Control-E. Zoom out to the Full show with Control-F.

Did I hit it?
