Cannot Generate Sounds

Post by Vitnex » Tue Nov 24, 2009 11:32 pm

I have the song in Audacity, play it, highlight the part I want to edit and...it won't let me add any effects or generate any sounds to bleep out the bad word  . I tried splitting the tracks, converting it to mono, anything I could find on YouTube, but nothing worked. Can you help me?

Where did the music come from? Audacity will not know how to edit YouTube videos or their audio tracks.

Just select the selection with the "bad" word and then either remove it with CTRL+K to delete the section or use CTRL-L to retain the section and silence it.

Or select the part of the track with the word and generate a tone over it.
Or select the part of the track with the word and paste another sound of equal length over the top of it.
