Recording Stero Wave Out mix

Post by edwindora » Sun Nov 22, 2009 11:08 am

Hello, sorry if this is the wrong forum, but its my first post.

i am trying to record some sound effects for a school production using the wave out recording. But i can only seem to record this in mono? while recording only one red bar is moving at the top. How do i record in stereo from the wave out?

Thanks

No problem, but we do need to know your operating system and which version of Audacity you are using.

Open up Audacity Preferences:
Edit menu > Preferences

Go to the "Audio I/O" tab and check that you have "Channels" set to "2 (stereo)".

My be "obvious" - but it sure catches a lot of newbies out - so don't feel embarrassed.

Some of us would prefer if the default was 2 -channel stereo OOTB. Then we wouldn't keep getting this issue - and only folks who actually want to record in mono - or use multi-channels - would need to reset this parameter
