Hello!
When I skype or else I always use the front mic/line-in ports without problems. And I think I have also used audacity via these two ports (but before I re-set my computer and re-installed everything some weeks ago). Now when I tried to record (again via front mic/line-in) it wouldn't work. Took me quite long as I thought the problem must be in my audio settings (disabled deviced or else). But then I tried the back ports for mic and line-in and now it works fine. How can that be? How can I get my front mic working again? (Did not find any 'front' or 'back' with the microphone settings...).
(Windows XP Home)
Thanks!

Why do front mic/line-in not work?

Re: Why do front mic/line-in not work?
Did you do any hardware changes inside the box? It is possible the cable between the front ports and the sound card has become disconnected.
If not, there may be a setting somewhere in Control Panel > Sounds and Audio. Search through every option, as it may not be obvious.
