Audacity 1.2.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

I was using audacity, and for some reason...

Post by Putzpie » Tue Nov 10, 2009 10:16 pm

all the audio on my computer is quieter now. Even when I'm not using audacity. Yes I've restarted.

Just out of nowhere after trying to record something, and messing around with the input and output volume, everything is quieter, even at max volume.

EDIT: Audacity playback plays at normal levels though.

How do I fix it?

Many applications have two volume controls. iTunes, QuickTime, and DVDPlayer all let you adjust volume in addition to the main volume control on the desktop. Is everything turned up?

Actually, I fixed the problem just now. I reinstalled my sound drivers and everything was all good.

Thanks anyway, though.
