Error When Saving Projects

Post by Aidenj1990 » Tue Nov 10, 2009 2:15 am

I was working on a project today and everything was working as it should, until I tried to save. It took a lot longer than normal to save (it gave me an "Audacity is Not Responding" message), and when it finally finished it gave me this weird error message saying something along the lines of "Error Occurred. Project May Not Be Writeable or Disk is Full", the latter of which being impossible seeing how I still have a lot of free HD space. It still saved an .aup file but when it is opened it has silence in replace of the the audio in the audio tracks. The weird thing is it saved all the effects and envelopes I had put on specific audio tracks :? . Is there anyway to recover the data in the project or will I have to start all over, also, is the a solution to the saving issue? Thanks in advance.

I was working on a project 40 min, and when trying to save it, audacity crashed. The temporary files were in D: on the disc, so I did not lost any file. But the project was not saved as a project but there are 398 files in the temporary file. The question is: How to stick the files together (not mix) but in row 1+2+3...etc.

Which version of Audacity are you using? (look in Help > About Audacity).

Make sure that you only use alphanumeric characters in the file name and try again.
(Space, hyphen and underscore are also OK, but other special characters can create illegal file names that your computer will refuse to write).
