I use Audacity all the time for short voice pieces (Rode mic) - say up to 2 or 3 minutes. Last week I tried (stupidly) a longer recording of an interview but got thrown out of the session. An error message said I could retrieve files. Any idea how please?
(Sorry for dumb Windows user query ......)

Re: Lost file
It wasn't the length of the recording that killed you as much as having the capture session interrupted/damaged.
There have been reports of six-hour capture sessions carried to successful completion.
