Output Volume Control in Audacity changes Master Volume

I notice that when I change my output volume control in audacity it changes the master volume on my computer. I have other applications that don't do that like Pod Farm, Riffworks, WinTV etc. Is there anyway that audacity can be set up so that it just changes the volume locally in the program rather than changing the master volume. Its difficult to maintain a constant volume while I'm using POD farm and the guitar to play along with audacity.

You can use the volume sliders on the tracks - but note when you Export an audio file from Audacity it will use the levels that are set by these sliders.
