it don't record

hello
wen i click on the record button i get a message that something can't open
i don't know how i say it in english but i think it is the sound system on de computer
but it is not only with audacity earlier i tryed with cool edit and it won't record also
so i think there's a setting wrong because since i have vista i can't record
i hope someone can help me with this because it's so frustrating

Update to Audacity 1.3 - it runs much better on Vista.

The problem you are having is probably that you have no recording inputs enabled - see here for how to enable the recording inputs: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/index.php? ... ng_devices
