Hi there
I'm pretty new to Audacity and was wondering how can I remove everything except the bass from a track?
I can boost the bass, but want to remove guitars etc from the track.
This is just really so I can hear the bass better, as boosting is still doesnt make it loud enough as I'm trying to learn the bass off a few rock tracks.
thanks

Upgrade to Audacity 1.3
You can either use the Equalizer effect to cut/boost any frequency, or you can use the "low pass filter" to remove higher frequencies (or a combination of them both.
It is often easier to pick out the notes in a bass track by listening to the low-mid range rather than just the bass - try using the Equalizer and boost the range 200Hz to 800Hz a little, and cut the other frequencies. You will need to fiddle with different settings for best results.

I don't thing that 1.2 has the low-pass filters, and 1.3 has a much better graphic equaliser.
There's also loads of other enhancements to enjoy in 1.3, and it's probably more stable now than the old "stable" 1.2.6 version.
