Hi guys,

I've got an apparently common problem. Most of the mix I've been making now has no sound despite the waveform appearing. From reading other posts it seems like that is because I've deleted the files Audacity was sourcing from. My question is, is there any way of restoring my project? I.e. if I reconvert a track to WAV from mp3 and resave it to where the old track was, will audacity recognise this and restore sound?

Yes. It will. However you have to hit it exactly. All the folders and filenames have to match exactly the original show.

We had one poster who complained that he didn't rename any files, he just created a music folder and put everything in it. Doesn't count. MyShow/Production/piano2.wav is different from
MyShow/Production/clips/piano2.wav.

You can open up your AUP file in NotePad, WordPad, or Word and read it. It's in semi-English and may give you some hints on what you called your original music. I made a graphic out of a really simple AUP file. Note that in about line 7, there is a pathway and sound file listed. If my piano solo isn't in that exact pathway, there is no show.
