Power Point 2003
I have a power point created with Power Point 2003 and have linked the audacity recordings to different slides throughout the presentation by converting the sound files to MP3 files. It works well, however looks junky. I'm trying to create a power point presentation where co-workers can easily insert the cd and select the power point presentation. Currently, when a co-worker opens up the cd it contains all of the sound files along with the power point. I haven't been able to find a way to hide the sound files or create a folder for the files to sit in seperate from the power point. The problem is that it looks messy and is hard for co-works to know which file to select without having clear directions. So far, what I've read on line is that the sound files have to sit in the same folder as the power point for the power point to locate the sound files. I'm hoping there's another way that doesn't look so junky. Any ideas?

Re: Power Point 2003
Instead of a million sound clips, create a folder called "Sound" and put all the clips inside that. PowerPoint should allow you to "point" to a folder inside its structure.

Re: Power Point 2003
Place the MP3s in an AUDIO subfolder.
Within PowerPoint, insert each MP3 file like this:
..AUDIO{filename.mp3}
where you substitute each actual MP3 filename for {filename.mp3}. Example:
..AUDIOChina Girl.mp3
The ..AUDIO portion instructs PowerPoint to look in a subfolder entitled AUDIO that is one level below the parent folder from which the PPT presentation is being run. In this way each slide will be able to explicitly locate each referenced MP3 file.
When complete, save your PPT file as {same name}.PPS
In this way, anyone launching the PPS file will be automatically viewing PowerPoint in slide show mode and will be unable to make any edits.
