Im tired of losing good takes to this, so Ill post it here to see what others say.
Im running Windows 7 32bit RC 7100 on my laptop with a OCZ Summit SSD with plenty of free space. 2GB of DDR2 and a 1.6Ghz Dual Core Intel.
Not every time, but more than half the time after recording a track (about 4 minutes) as soon as I click to stop recording the program freezes, windows searches for a solution and it closes. Upon relaunching, I dont even get a message saying the program has frozen and if I would like to restore data.
I know someone is going to say.. its not compatible with windows 7 because its not listed on the download page.. but it was working fine for months until I upgraded to 2.6.1, and even that was working fine for a few months of light use. Should I be switching to the beta for better windows 7 support?
I have reinstalled audacity.

<<<I have reinstalled audacity.>>>
Did it ask you "English?" when you relaunched it after the install? If it didn't, you didn't reinstall Audacity. The major part of Audacity (in 1.2) is held in Registry Settings and not the actual program. They can get stuck and drag bad behavior from version to version.
Audacity 1.3 has much better support for advanced operating systems. Give it a shot. You can have both on your machine as long as you only one at a time. Audacity 1.3 projects will not open in 1.2.
The last two Mac system updates (for example) will only run Audacity 1.3.
