Audacity 1.2.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

Retrieving and saving a project

Post by B Kyle » Sat Oct 17, 2009 12:57 am

I copied songs from some vinyl records and when I tried to save the project, the Audacity 1.26 software version gave me a (non responding) sign and I had to exit before the project could be saved. I had labeled the project to be saved and it was in the process of saving the project when the problem occurred. When I reopened Audacity I got a message that said the project had only been saved into a temporary file and while Audacity could not automatically retrive the data I could manually save the project data. I started to do an import, but am confused how to do the manual retrieval and how to save this project. I had named the project and was trying to save it when the problem happened and I can find the name of the project and the list of data included therein, but do not know how to select all of the data and save it. How is this task accomplished?

B Kyle,

I'm glad you have been able to locate your files. That can be half of the battle. :)
There are Recovery instructions here in CrashRecovery in the Wiki.

I hope this helps. Oh.... And Good Luck :)
