I have just downloaded the latest version of Audacity on my notebook with Windows Vista and have tried to record cassette tapes using "Dazzel" through a USB Port. On Audacity preference "Audio I/O" I only have the 2 option for "Recordong Devices" of MS Sound Maper and Microphone.
I cannot seem to be able to record through the USP Port. Can you please help.
Thanks in advancew

Audacity 1.2.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.
The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

Re: New User - Cannot Record
Doesn't Dazzle have its own capture software package? If Windows doesn't recognize the device as a stand-alone sound device, then you're pretty much stuck. Audacity is a complete slave to Windows.
Isn't Dazzle a really old device? I think I had one ten or fifteen years ago. You may need to get the Vista software drivers for it so it works in your machine.
