Recording Problem

Post by brainlord » Wed Oct 14, 2009 12:49 am

So when I try to record over another track it has the beat from the other track in the recording. I have headphones plugged in and the volumes turned down so there's no leaking. Though, I don't think the recording device has been specified. The drop down box is grayed out.

operating system: windows xp
audacity:1.2 stable
and im recording through a computer mic that plugs directly into

Please help me out, and keep it simple please.

Open the Windows Mixer (loudspeaker icon near the clock in lower right corner of the desktop) and set the recording input to Microphone instead of Stereo Mix.
