This is what I want to do: Record a single voice per track. When I start recording a new track and another/new voice on the microphone, I would like to be able to listen to each and all previous tracks through the headphones while recording the new one but still only record one voice on each new track. So while recording track 2, I'll be listening to track 1 and while recording track 3, I'll be listening to tracks 1and 2 and so on.
This is what's happening: When I record a new track (and a new voice), all previous tracks are being recorded on this track as well. So when I record on track 3, I'm also recording tracks 1 and 2 on track 3. When I playback any tracks after 1 I'm getting all previous tracks on that track as well. Does this make sense? In the end the only track that has a single voice on it is track 1; track 2 has 1 and 2 on it, track 3 has tracks 1,2 and 3 on it and so on. This would also enable me to edit voices individually.
Is it possible to achieve my goal with this program? I have "Play other tracks while recording new one" selected in Edit/Preferences menu.
Thanx for any help

Re: recording and playback issues
You also have Windows set to record Mix-Out or What-U-Hear instead of the microphone. Mix-Out is a construction that lets you record everything that appears in your headphones. Everything. It's normally used to record internet radio shows.
Now you just need to figure out which Windows control to turn off so it doesn't do that.
