Re: Audacity or Reaper
When using an internal sound card on a PC, the sound card can usually be configured to play back and record simultaneously. Configuring it this way allows you to hear what you are recording and what you are playing without the need to turn on software monitoring. Most USB audio devices can also be configured this way. I believe that the Line6 Pocket Pod has been primarily designed to work with ASIO drivers, so the functionality with standard Windows drivers (which Audacity uses) may be limited. It may still be possible to configure the Pocket Pod to work with Windows drivers without software playthrough, but I don't have one for testing.

Re: Audacity or Reaper
Ok...so if I go into the settings for my soundcard I might be able to set that up?

In that case, would I be better off trying Reaper?

Re: Audacity or Reaper
Yes I think you probably can set that up in your sound card control panel/Mixer, though I cannot guarantee it and cannot tell you how to do it as I don't have one. I presume you have a manual for it?
I think that Reaper will probably be a better choice for doing the recording (because it supports ASIO) but you will still need to find out how to set up your Pocket Pod correctly. Of course, once you have recorded, you can still use Audacity for editing. If you want to you can then do all of the production (editing and mixing) entirely in Audacity.
