How on earth do I prevent a click track from appearing on the final recorded track? Have trawled the web for 2 days now...no one seems to know (Before anyone else says: "Serious musicians should use Cubase!" I can't (yet) afford it)

Delete the click track when you have finished with it.

If that does not stop the click track from sounding then you have probably recorded the click track along with your music on your other tracks. This is usually caused by having your recording source set incorrectly in the computer mixer (the "Windows Mixer" or your sound cards Mixer). Look for a loudspeaker icon near the system clock (lower right corner of the Desktop) and find the recording settings. Make sure that you are recording directly from the input that you are using (Line or Mic) and not from Stereo Mix (sometimes called "Mix" or "What U Hear").

The other possibility is if you are recording with a microphone and listening to the click track with speakers and the microphone is picking up the sound of the click track while you record. To avoid this problem, use headphones to listen to the click track and not loudspeakers.
