Balancing Stereo channels
Is there a way to balance the audio ? Currently on a stereo channel I have more audio coming from the right channel then the left, I'd like to balance that out by putting more audio on the left channel so I get as mentioned a balanced stereo effect.

See the bit on Pan control from the Aufacity manual http://audacityteam.org/manual-1.2/track_controls.html

Pan, didn't do much. Although the Audio seems to be coming out of both channels alright, although if there was a way to have a bit more control otherwise the results will do.

Re: Balancing Stereo channels
Effect > Normalize will adjust the volume of both sides of the performance independently.
You can also split the stereo tracks with the tools on the left and then apply any Audacity tool to one side or the other.

Re: Balancing Stereo channels
He means click on the little-black-downward-pointing-triangle in the track control bar to the left of the track waveforms.
Then select Split Stereo Track - this will create 2 separate mono tracks which can be selected independently and therefore operated on independently with the editing Effects
Once you have finished your editing you can join up the two tracks again as a stereo pair by clicking in the little-black-downward-pointing-triangle and selecting Make Stereo Track

And please don't "shout" by using large font sizes to post - it makes for very tiresome reading, and certainly doesn't get you earlier or better attention from the forum volunteers who give up their free time to answer these queries on the forum. You will note that I have edited your posts to remove this.

Re: Balancing Stereo channels
Normalize didn't solve it, and I realized what exactly the problem is, if I didn't mention this already. When I adjust the Right volume slider no volume comes out of the right only out of the left, how can I split so I'm getting volume to come out of the right as in the left ?

No, you didn't.
Split the stereo tracks. Select all of the track with music and Copy. Select the blank track, home the cursor and Paste. Recombine into one Stereo Track.
You may need to go to the end of the show and cut anything extra past the end of the performance. You may get remnants of the original problem hanging over.

Re: Balancing Stereo channels
Alright, now that is better
How do you merge two audio tracks ? Besides cutting and pasting.

Re: Balancing Stereo channels
What do you mean by "merge"? If you mean convert two mono tracks into one stereo track, you do it using the track drop-down menu > Make Stereo Track.LionBear wrote:How do you merge two audio tracks ?
