When you get your show edited in Audacity and you're happy with it, Export As WAV. Select that WAV file and drag it to the Music CD authoring and burning program of your choice. Some people use Windows Media Player. I use Easy CD Creator, Veritas, and Nero on the PC.

Some of the Audacity versions show you a "metadata" panel just before exporting and it confuses people. If Audacity starts asking you for performer names, just OK that panel and go around it.

Hello I tried again and I have it exported as wav, not MP3 and it will play on computers but not on portable cd players nor on auto cd player. I tried to correct it with this program and also with others. Nothing seems to work correctly. Ross

In which case it sounds like you are creating a "data" CD and not a "music" CD. Computers (and some, but by no means all, CD players) can play data CDs - but most CD players will require a "Music" CD. Most CD burning/authoring software has an option to switch between the two when doing the burn.

Thank you a lot for your time. I will try again. I did this on many records a year ago and had no problem now I cannot get it together.

We're missing the words "I dropped my WAV file into [CD Authoring Program] and told it to burn a music disk.

If you can't say that sentence, then you're doing it wrong. There is always a CD management program in there somewhere -- at least in Windows. The later Windows Media programs will burn a Music CD if you ask them nice.
