C00D10D9 WAV error

Post by FollowingSky » Wed Sep 30, 2009 11:58 pm

I've got some FLAC encoded audio files. They play allright in WinAmp, VLC, Audacity exc. Obviously they don't play in Windows Media player. I've tried using winamp and audacity to convert them to WAV but I when i try to write them to a CD with Windows Media Player they don't work. I get the C00D10D9 error and some text :

It is not possible to determine if this file can fit on a disc because Windows Media Player cannot detect the length of the file. Playing the file before burning may enable the Player to detect the file length.

I really don't have a reason to get another burning probram because WMP works fine for what I do.

What I've tried.

Straight conversion with Audacity & winAmp
Create a few seconds of silence in audacity then "paste" in the FLAC "data"

Both have the same result. Any ideas?

I think I'd go into Audacity Preferences and make sure they're set to 44100, 16-bit, Stereo. That's not how Audacity normally wakes up. Restart Audacity and try it again. You are Exporting As WAV, right? Audacity will not Save a sound file.

I am exporting yes. Same problem after doing the following:

Audacity start
Edit -> preferences -> quality tab ->
Def Sample rate 44100
default format 16-bit

Other settings are default.

I've fooled with the audio I/O settings as well. Here's what they are. (Captured and exported waves won't burn with the same issue so it's not just the original format)

Playback Speakers yadda yadda

Recording:
Device: Microsoft Sound Mapper - Input
Channels: 2 (stereo)
both boxes unchecked.

Except that on this occasion it doesn't.

I was going to suggest the same as Koz, but if that is not working....?

You're using Audacity 1.2.6 ?
You are exporting with "File menu > Export As WAV" ?

I am using 1.2.6.

The following worked with the small system file but not the larger exported ones... grrr...

Get this. I went and grabbed one of the system wav files. Dragged it onto the burn list in WMP and it has the same error. If i set it to burn a data disk, play the files, and then set it back to audio CD it'll burn them.

Too weird.

Media player DOESN'T work for me now :)

CDBurnerXP ? (free, open source, nothing to loose, I like it - just Google it).
