Audacity 1.2.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

Audacity has stopped working.......

Post by crazyfooinc » Tue Sep 29, 2009 9:50 pm

Hey everyone, I need some help. When I download audacity and install it, everything is fine; however, when I try to run the program it says this, "Audacity.exe has stopped working, windows is looking for a solution to the problem." Then, it closes out and I am unable to open it  . I am running on Windows Vista 64bit. Thanks for your help! :) (audacity 1.2.6 stable)

I'm not a Windows elf, but I can hear them telling you to download and run Audacity 1.3. you can put both versions on your machine as long as you only use one at a time. Audacity 1.3 projects will not open up in 1.2.

Audacity 1.2 was written during the Harding Administration and can't cope with the modern operating systems and computers.
