Audacity 1.2.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

Making the File Play Backwards

Post by rjcwau » Tue Sep 29, 2009 12:19 am

I'd like to know how to make the file play backwards, and then save that file to my computer like that (backwards). Where ever I look, I can't seem to find this.
Please help me!

P.S. My computer is a Vista.

For Vista I would strongly recommend using Audacity 1.3 rather than the old 1.2 version.

You have the file opened/imported in Audacity?
Select the track, then select "Reverse" from the Effects menu.

Use "Export" (File menu) to get an audio file out of Audacity ("Save" will save the Audacity Project, which only works in Audacity and can not be played by anything else).

Thanks so much!

The problem was mainly, I couldn't select anything from the effects menu, but I figured that out a few minutes after I posted this. Now, I just need to export it. Thanks again!

Because Audacity was "Paused" and not "Stopped"? (or some other reason?)
