Sending/Posting an Audacity file

Post by lynnmill41 » Sun Sep 27, 2009 1:57 pm

I'm an online teacher, and I often post essays for my students to read as examples of good writing. I'd like to record my voice explaining particular features of these essays. I've recorded my explanation for one essay already. However, when I am in my course delivery system (Blackboard) and try to add the file I recorded (and saved in .wav) to a page on my course, I cannot find the file. If I am out of BlackBoard and just choose MY COMPUTER from my desktop, I open AUDACITY and I still can't see the file until I choose at tab on the MY COMPUTER menu entitled COMPATIBILITY FILES. That option, though, is not available when I'm in Blackboard.

Similarly, when I'm sending an E-mail and want to attach the .wav file I saved in Audacity, I cannot find the saved file there either.

Please help!

We assume you Exported as WAV, not Save. Audacity does not Save sound files.

Assuming that, next time you Export As WAV, export to the desktop. Sometimes, Audacity will default to Exporting to its hidden, protected folder. Normal People (you) aren't allowed to go in there.

If you did actually Save instead of Export, then we have a different problem.

Kozikowksi, thank you! Exporting (not saving :) it to my desktop did the trick!
