How To Deepen Voice In A Song

Post by JimmyChoo » Tue Sep 15, 2009 9:18 pm

I'm trying to make the song 'Fashion' by Lady Gaga sound like a man, but the only way I know how is by highlighting everything and then clicking Edit Pitch. But, that deepens the music as well, when I only want the VOICE to deepen.

How can I do that? Thanks.

Deepening the voice is child's play compared to pulling out the voice and putting it back. Very few people manage to do that.

Search the forum for "vocal removal" and learn all the fun reasons this never works very well.

I collected some of these tools at one time.

I managed to find the YouTube tutorial from the Audacity wiki. I've managed to take the voice out, but after I deepen it, it says nothing about putting it back into the main song so that I have the normal song instruments with the changed deeper voice.

You mean that you have isolated the voice?
I can tell you how to put it back into the song very easily, but I've never found a satisfactory way to isolate a voice.
How did you do that?
Does it sound OK?

To put it back, just put it on another track and play it at the same time as the music track.

It wasn't bad, I just split the stereo track, highlighted it all and clicked invert. Then changed both to Mono.

And that gave you what - the voice on its own, or the music on its own?
