Recording will not play back when I hit "record"

Post by mhemingway » Sat Sep 12, 2009 9:14 pm

Once I have recorded an audio track, when I click play it will play. But when i hit record, the file starts and no sounds happen. The program was working perfectly, and then all of a sudden it started doing this. I changed no settings whatsoever. Also, running on Vista.

I'm fuzzy on what you're trying to do. If you want Audacity to start a whole new timeline with a fresh live recording, then there may be something wrong with your Audacity. If you want Audacity to stop what it's doing and add onto an existing performance, then you're in the wrong Audacity. Audacity 1.2 never did that. That only works in 1.3.

You can have both on your machine safely as long as you only use one at a time. Audacity 1.3 Projects will not open in 1.2.
