My Format: Windows XP (SP3)
I'm a bit of a "newbie" on here. I have Audacity 1.2.6 and received a notice regarding the BETA 1.3.9. Can I still use the older 1.2.6 or do I have to uninstall it in order to try out the BETA 1.3.9?
Thanks in advance.

No you don't need to remove the 1.2 on your PC - you can have 1.2 and 1.3 on the same PC - but you cannot run both at once.
Also be aware that 1.2 projects can be opened in 1.3 but not the other way around - and once a 1.2 project has been opened and then Saved in 1.3 it then becomes a 1.3 project and can no longer be opened in 1.2

Re: Two Audacity Programs operating at once.
Hi Waxycylinder,
I'm glad I was finally able to thank you for helping me with the question regarding Audacity 1.2.6. and 1.3.9 being able to co-exist on the same PC. I do realize that I cannot use both at once, as I have a similar situation with ms-word 2003 and ms-word 2007.
I used "m139139" for my user ID, but for some strange reason had a very difficult time in logging on a second time, even though, Buanzo (Arturo Busleiman) and Gale Stewart both tried very hard to help me corrrect the situation. Hopefully, this will be the end of the logon problem.
Thanks again.
