<<<when i record streaming music>>>

How? If your setup turns the show into standard music format first and then records it, then this should work. If the recording system tries to retain the original music format, this isn't going to work. Much of the newer on-line music is not recorded in MP3. Audacity 1.2 only recognizes MP3.

You can try Audacity 1.3. That will deal with many more sound formats, or pull down the music and convert in Super or Switch to WAV format. That will open up anywhere, but be careful. When you do that, the music will revert to its real size which could be huge. An 83MB radio show in very gentle AAC will turn into a 700MB file in WAV.

You can install Audacity1.2 and 1.3 safely as long as you use one at a time. Audacity 1.3 projects will not open up in 1.2.
