Hey there,
Well i am a first time user so i am a lil bit confused so please bare with me. i am trying to record myself playing bass, and i have a drum machine (Boss dr880) I have the machine plugged into the line in jack on my laptop but how do i record the track on the drum machine to audacity??

I didn't quite follow that, but in any event, you can't record two things at the same time without adding a mixer. You didn't mention a microphone. Is there one?

The desperation method is to record the drum track and then play that back while you record the vocals. You can layer up to 16 instruments like that. It doesn't have to be vocals.
