I'm having problems lately with Audacity cutting off the start of short tracks in playback. So for instance the music for the open of my podcast is there on the timeline, but doesn't kick in until about a second in. Anyone else know what the problem with these could be? Everything else plays fine, it's just on sound fx and music stingers that pop up during the show.

I suspect it is something that your sound card is doing. Can you play very short audio clips in other media players?

Re: Audio Getting Cut Off
Yes, I just checked by pulling up the 2 second sound clips in my card and they work fine. I wouldn't mind if it was just during playback, but it cuts the front on mp3 and wav exports also.
Re: Audio Getting Cut Off
Open Audacity and generate a 2 second tone.
Click "Play".
Does it play for 2 seconds?
Export the tone as a WAV file.
Close Audacity and then open Audacity.
Import the WAV file.
Is it still 2 seconds long?
