Is there a plugin that will reduce or remove the Formant of a signal to boost the fundamental tone?

basilwhite,
I googled and found a few formant filter plugins. I do not know if these work on Audacity. (Note that VST plugins work generally work better on
Audacity beta). There may be a cost involved on some of these filters, although I believe the first one listed is free.
Formant Filter 1.0
Vox FX
Waves TUNE
I hope this helps.

What does Audacity call the Formant Filter 1.0 effect? It's in my plugins folder, Audacity rescanned all my effects, but I can't read the .dll to find out the label.

basilwhite,
OK, I downloaded this effect and put it in my "Audacity 1.3.9 Beta (Unicode)/Plug-Ins" folder. When I start Audacity 1.3.9, the filter comes up in Audacity as:
Code: Select all
SynthEdit http://www.synthedit.com:Formant Filter - SynthEdit..
If 1.2 doesn't work for you, let me suggest trying the
1.3.9 beta.
Also, in 1.3.9, be advised that when adding new VST effects, you many need to go to Preferences > Effects, and check "Rescan VST effects next time Audacity is started".
I hope this helps.
