Audacity will not open

I have used Audacity for a while. But, for some reason, it won't open when I click on the icon. I even tried to click on it right from it's folder, nothing. I also rebooted the computer, nothing changed. I then uninstalled and reinstalled. It just won't open or start at all. I am using the latest Audacity 1.2x (stable) with Windows XP Media Edition. It doesn't show that it's running in the task manager either (audacity.exe).

You need to reset Audacity's preferences.

Use the "Safe Solution" described here: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/index.php? ... o_defaults

When you have done that, it is probably a good opportunity to upgrade to Audacity 1.3.9 (the 1.2 series is now virtually obsolete and is soon to be replace).
Fix the problem before you upgrade, or the new version may pick up the error from the old version.

I followed the directions, it does not list audacity in there. I have found out when I remove the VST bridge plug in, it works. How can I use Fruity Loops plug ins on Audacity? Or I can't?

Does anyone know a good basic, graphic eq plug in that works with Audacity?

Nevermind! I downloaded and installed Audacity 1.3.9....all plug ins work there.
