Hi,

I use MP3 Skype Recorder to record conversations on Skype but his Stereo mode makes 2 seperate tracks : left track for me, right track for others.

I would want to keep Stereo quality but have every people talking on both tracks of Stereo mode.

Can Audacity do that?

Not in Audacity 1.2.

We're pushing everybody over to Audaciy 1.3 anyway, so this is a golden opportunity. You can install 1.2 and 1.3 on your machine as long as you only use one at a time. Audacity 1.3 projects will not open in 1.2.

In 1.3:

Tracks > Stereo Track To Mono.

If you still insist on a Stereo product, then Tracks > New, and copy paste. Then Make Stereo Track from the tool list under the black arrow on the left. Export.

You know why they do this right? This gives you the opportunity to apply filters and effects to one track (after you split them) without effecting the other. This is the time you balance the volumes and clear inadvertant damage between the conversations.

If this is all a bother to you, I believe Pamela will allow you to record everything smashed together in one shot. Please know that if you do this, you can never split them up again without editing each word in both conversations.
