No Audio I/O tab in Preferences

Post by dziadziu68 » Tue Sep 01, 2009 1:56 am

In Audacity Preferences there is no Audio I/O tab.
When I record anything it records only in left channel, right channel is blank.
What might be wrong?

Have you posted on the correct part of the forum? What version of Audacity?

In 1.3.8 it appears to be replaced by the Devices tab

It is there that Devices tab and it is set on Stereo, but still it records only one track.
When I installed Audacity 1.2 almost a year ago it was working fine.
Then I haven't use the program until about a month ago and that's when it stop working right.
I installed new version but still have same problem.
Checked wireing and connection but everything seem to be fine.
What else I can check?

See if you can change the wireing round and make it switch to recording only the right channel.
If you are on Vista there may be something in the Windows Control Panel that sets recording to mono/stereo.
If that does not work you will have to get into the detail and tell us exactly what you have and how you have it all set up
