cant record properly
i have 2 numark turntables and a behringer mixer and when i try recording into audacity through the mic input on my computer the recording quality is bad.. my decks are plugged into the phono inputs in my mixer, when i try it in the line inputs the recording quality is great but i can hardly hear anything throuh my speakers? how can i record propperly using the phono inputs?
Re: cant record properly
You definitely want to use the Line Input on your computer. The Mic input is low quality and most likely limited to mono instead of stereo.
Do the recordings turn out at a normal volume, but when it's recording it sounds very low?
If so, it sounds like you don't have your sound card driver software setup right. Generally you can adjust the input volume somewhere through Windows in order to do this. Your problem seems to be that you've just got it set to monitor the input at a really low level.
This wiki page has some general info on setting up driver software for both Vista and XP:
