HOW TO CREATE TRACKS

Hi all,
i am using audacity 1.3..
i imported a .mp3 file with 10 songs in it.
when i view it in audacity,it's all 1 track.
i can't foward to the next song.
there is silence between each song.
is there a way to create a track in between each song?
please help!

While the composite is on the timeline, Press Control-B at the beginning of each song. That will set a label.

Then File > Export Multiple and audacity will produce a pile of individual sound files, one per song. Import into your Music CD burning program (in any order you want) and you will be able to skip and scan just like a regular Music CD.
