Audacity 1.2.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

Recording Vinyls

I'm trying to record vinyls with my Ion turntable. When I click on Rec, all I get is a straight line instead of the sound waves.

Like so.

When I listen to it on Audacity, I can hear really low then I can turn up the volume but when I export it as a WAV file you can't hear it at all. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong. This is my first time using this program.

Your ION should also have a pair of RCA leads - can you connect these to a hi-fi amp/mini-system/boombox? If so, does that play ok?

You might want try a read of these pages from the Audacity Wiki (IMHO better than the ION manual)
