Audacity 1.2.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

Track labelling

This is the second computer I've installed Audacity on (previous one Windows XP, this one Vista). In both, when I try to use the lower case 'z' in a track label, nothing happens. Upper case 'Z" works fine. Has anyone had this problem?

This is a known bug in 1.2.x - it has been fixed in the beta 1.3.x (it will not be fixed in 1.2). IIRC it's down to the use of lc z as one of the keyboard shortcuts.

You could either upgrade to 1.3.7 or 1.3.8 (both pretty stable now) - or avod using lc z. My workaround in 1.2 was to use the uupper case Z in its place and edit it later in the exported filename and metadata.
