Hello, very slowly getting used to this program but seems I'm not getting the most from it? When recording a track and then trying to select some thing from the 'Effects or Analyze menu) they are both greyed out and therefore I can't select any thing from them?
Any idea's?

This will be fixed in the next version of the program, but Audacity defaults to having all of its tools gray. Select something (anything) in the timeline and the tools will all come back to life.
