Audacity 1.2.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

Audacity Plugin Help

Post by jabba » Sat Oct 27, 2007 5:32 pm

Hi,

I've downloaded Audacity-Extra from http://sourceforge.net/projects/audacity-extra.

However, I can't get it to work. I put the file in the plug-in file for Audacity, but that didn't do the trick. I'm quite enthusiastic about this plug-in, and am hoping someone can give me some direction. I've already looked online for more info, but have come up empty-handed.

Thanks in advance,

Jabba

<<<the plug-in file for Audacity, but that didn't do the trick.>>>

It may not if the PlugIn Folder is in the wrong place.

It's critical that the Audacity.exe executable program file and the Plug-Ins folder are in the same place. You may need to force Windows to show you File Extensions to straighten this one out.

Open Audacity and unfold the Effect rolldown. It doesn't matter if there's anything on the timeline or not (the rolldown might be gray). About 2/3 of the way down, do you have a split and the top two effects after the split are Cross Fade In and Cross Fade Out? If you have no split, then you have no Plug-Ins folder either--or at least Audacity can't see it.

Koz,

Thank you for your help. I saw cross fade in and cross fade out as you described under the effect menu.

The plugin folder I'm using was created automatically by Audacity, so I'm not sure where I'm going wrong. Here's a screen shot of my folders if that helps at all.

Thanks again!

I can't find any useful info for this thing. Is there a better link than the one you've provided?

I just downloaded this thing and it looks like it needs to be compiled. I also don't think it's a plug-in for Audacity, I think it's a whole new version of Audacity with "extras" added on by whoever wrote this.

The Plugins folder inside the .zip file I downloaded has several plugins in it, but they're all just standard Audacity plugins, nothing specially written.

All this is is a GUI-modified version of Audacity with support for some strange Vowel Target-Practice thing (whatever that means), a Temperature Sensor (why?), and some other things. You won't get anything out of it unless you compile it yourself.

I've tried to look for more info about the program, but Sourceforge is the only place I have been able to find it.

I teach English as a Foreign Language in China, so I was interested in helping my students practice their vowel sounds (maybe the Temperature Sensor will automatically shut the thing down if a student gets too frustrated). Unfortunately, I don't know how to compile, so I guess I'll just have to abandon it. Thanks for taking a look at it for me. I really appreciate it.
