Automatic Wav Bitrate Change...

I'm new to this forum, but I've used Audacity for quite a while.
Whenever i save a Wav file that was cut from another file (usually an mp3, aiff, or wav), the file will have an extremely high bit rate, 1411 kbps, instead of 128-256 kbps.
This is a problem because whenever i try to put a high bit rate sample into a progam called FL Studio, it takes forever to load the file, even just a 3 second file!

Please help!

WAV files aren't compressed and they're huge compared to the other compressed formats. Audacity does everything internally uncompressed.

When you make a new MP3, Audacity uses the compression values in the Preference settings, not the original settings. Multiple compressions always add noise and distortion and you can't stop it. Audacity will not cut MP3 files natively.
