windows 7 & LAME

Hi there, I've been a long time user of audacity and I now have a new pc with windows 7 and I noticed a difference with my laptop with windows XP. When I try to export my recording as mp3 (through LAME) there is no option for VBR, or should I say there are no options whatsoever except through the edit->preferences->File formats->MP3 export setup. So there is no longer an option when I go to export for setting VBR etc etc. I was just wondering if this is going to be fixed or if it is just something wrong with my settings.

cheers

Audacity has not yet been tested much on Windows 7.
Does Windows 7 support VBR encoding with Lame?
Is it a problem with Audacity, Lame or Windows 7 ?

I guess answers to these questions and resolutions will be found in due course, but the officially supported Windows platforms at the present time just go up to Microsoft's current release version, which is still Vista.

tbh I think that the problem lies simply in layout, where lame or audacity used to make room in the "save as/export" window for choosing settings, windows 7 doesn't. Atleast that's what I guess, for the time being I'll record with my laptop :)

Have you tried Audacity 1.3.8 on Windows 7 ?
The old 1.2 version will soon be replaced by Audacity 2.0

Sorry for the late reply, yes I have, that didn't install at all, not even running it as administrator.
