Removing Vocals Issue

Hi Guys,

I am trying to remove vocals from a track but it isn't working for me. There are a few youtube videos on how to do it that I have followed step by step but when I play track the vocals are still there. The steps I did are:

Import track
Select split stereo track
Click on bottom one so it becomes highlighted in grey
Click effect and click effects> invert
Clange both back to mono

AFter doing this when I paly thetarck I would expect the vocals to be removed but there aren't. Anyone any ideas?

Note that it says that several conditions must be met for it to work. If the necessary conditions are not met this technique will not work.
