lame_enc.dll can not be registrated

hi,
i work with xp prof 2002 servicep 3.
I get the error above, lame is loaded, but the director register service is not found
element can not be registrated
I get no sound to.
work with audicity 1.2.6

Let's deal with that first - there's not much point in trying to sort out problems with Lame if there are problems with your base Audacity install.

Try installing Audacity 1.3.8.
Use the download link near the top of this page: http://audacityteam.org/download/beta_windows

regarding the issue of getting lame_v3.98.2 for Audacity to work is the file selected you have to go to http://audacityteam.org/help/faq?s=install&i=lame-mp3 and follow the instruction to download this file. You can not use a file download manger such as Star-Downloader, etc.

"Lame_v3.98.2_for_Audacity_on_Windows.exe"

Once download you will have a setup .exe file not a zipped file to install as a program file.
This will solve any isses with the mp3 conversion for Audacity.
