Audacity Forum

Hi there for some reason my software doesnt want to record, most of the time, sometimes it works with out fail and other times it wont work at all.
The wavey line doesnt appear when you press record you just get a flat single line going through, but the microphone output level meter does go up as its meant to.
Please help as im at my wits end and feel like im going to get a nice big hammer........
p.s ive got sound when i play a normal tune ie windows sounds.

Well the problem you describe is probably to vague for anyone to give some useful advice. You should clarify some more because with this information alone, there can be many problems.
