singing out of time

hi
when i sing on audacty beta, when i am recording and singing everything seems fine, but when i play it back the whole song is out of tune by about 2/3 seconds, my voice plays around 2/3 secs after it should do! It has done this to me before and i managed to fix it but i can't remember how i did it, can anybody help please.
It is probably something simple LOL but can't find it!
