skipping during recording
Rats! For some reason when I record the signal seems to skip. Any thoughts on that??? I've got a laptop.

Do you have other (large, hungry) applications running while you are recording?
Are you conneceted to t'interweb - are your receiving s/w updates?
Virus checking could be interfering.
Are you recording to an extrenal USB disk rather than an internal hard drive? If so the USB disk is likely not to be fast enough.
