Microphone

I am trying to input audio files that were recorded on my computer's microphone. The drop arrow on the mixer toolbar will not let me choose "microphone". What is going on and how do I fix this?

Are you trying to record Skype phone calls?

My microphone doesn't record any sound ? Why ?
Every drivers are fines. I m working with vista 64.

I was able to record sound but one day every thing stop for all software that I need to record sound.
